• UO Guide: Guide to Auras with House of Intuition

What color is your aura? We’re getting a primer in all things aura from LA’s mystical, metaphysical center House of Intuition, where we sat down with Naha Armády — Tarot Reader, Clairvoyant, Crystal Healer, and Light Worker— to share all about reading, interpreting, and cleansing the energies we emit.

    What is an aura?
The aura is the interface through which we interact with the world around us. In simple terms, it is our “personal space,” and scientifically, it is our electromagnetic field. Our physical body which we can see is only a part of what makes us up as humans. Our intellect and our emotions are just two of many other aspects that are connected to us but not stored in a material form. They make up what is called our subtle bodies, and each layer has its own aura, or electromagnetic field. The aura serves as a filter around us, through which we send and receive thoughts and feelings.

How are auras read — can you share more about the different colors that come through in an aura reading?
The aura has multiple layers, each with their own type of appearance. A person who is clairvoyant (has a developed psychic sight) may be able to perceive the color of someones aura. When I see colors in the aura, what I am actually seeing is the auric layer of the emotional body. The way that I am able to scan an aura is by passing two powerfully charged quartz crystal points over a person’s body. These quartz points enable me to increase my clairvoyance and empathy to see weak areas, stress, and damage in the different layers of the aura.

    What does each color signify?

Colors indicate the rate of vibration: the faster the vibration, the higher on the color spectrum.
Just like any system, each aspect can be balanced or unbalanced. When balanced, the aura is bright, transparent, and radiant. When unbalanced, the colors appear muddy or dull.

Warm colors like red and orange can indicate energy, creativity, and vivacity
. Yellow or gold is indicative of courage, magnetism, and radiance.
Green is the color of growth, health, and productivity.
Pink represents kindness and compassion
. Blue represents truth, honest self expression, and is protective
. Violet shows up in people who are centered in spirituality, higher consciousness, and a healthy developed subconscious.

Can you explain more about what is discovered through an aura reading, and what someone can take from it?
When we experience something that affects us mentally, emotionally, or on other subtle levels, our auras will also be affected. Good positive interactions increase the ability for energy to flow throughout us, and negative interactions can cling to us, leaving us feeling drained or negative even once we have left the situation. An aura reading can tell you where you might have clutter or energetic debris in your aura, or point out weak areas that cause auric vulnerability. Knowledge is power, and being aware of what is going on in your subtle body is the first step toward being healthier in mind, heart, and spirit.

In addition to readings, you do aura cleansings at House of Intuition. Can you share more about what this is? When should someone consider getting their aura cleansed?
I like to call aura cleansing “cleaning the dryer lint-trap.” Our aura is our own personal little realm that we operate in, and it is affected by the environment around us; in, fact it often reflects it. When you live in a city where there are a lot of people, pollution, etc., your aura will tend to get polluted more easily. The same is true if you are in a stressful or toxic environment at work or at home, your aura will be stressed out, and probably need a good detox! When we feel sluggish or sick, often times we know we need to detox our bodies – drink more water, eat healthier, and exercise. We can’t forget about the part of ourselves that we don’t see. Our aura wants a detox too, and that is what the cleansing is.

Some people like to schedule cleansings as maintenance; it's like a spiritual oil change. The change of seasons is a good time to measure. Other good times to cleanse your aura are after a particularly stressful or traumatic event, or before beginning a new project, relationship, or moving into a new home. This way, you can make sure you do not take the energetic debris of the old forward with you into the new cycle.

What is involved in the aura cleansing?
Each of the four elements (fire, water, air, and earth) can be used as cleansing tools for the different layers of the aura. I use the air element (wind, breath, incense, aromatherapy, sound) to clear the mental layers, fire (candles, violet flame, igniting the fire within) to clear the etheric layers, water (sprays, oils, floral waters, holy water) to clear the emotional layers, and finally earth (crystals and stones) to clear the final densest layers of the aura from energetic and environmental pollutants.
My clients may experience this as releasing pressure or weight, letting go of negative thinking, processing emotions, and shedding old out-dated versions of themselves.

After the clearing, we do what is called a Middle Pillar Healing, which is a technique which invokes light back into the body and into the aura, specifically into all of the layers that were carefully cleared out. This way, the person leaves feeling full – but not heavy, full of light!

If someone doesn’t live in LA and isn’t fortunate enough to visit your amazing shop in person, how can they take steps to be more conscious of their own aura and energy?
You can use the four elements that I mentioned to help to clear things out of your aura. I suggest smudging with sage or incense, taking cleansing sea salt baths, getting out in nature, and taking the time to focus on your breath. These are all ways that you can support your auric system and keep it healthy so that you can be your best self.
