• UO Guide: Back-to-School Beauty Essentials

A new school year means it's time for a beauty overhaul. We give a rundown of our recent favorites and break down what makes them must-haves for fall.

Whether you've got straight across brows like Kendall, or a high arch like Kylie, brows are im-por-tant. To cut down on counter space, we like to rely on a few choice products. For brushes, we're fans of the Sigma Beauty Brow Goals set, which consists of four brushes all specifically made for brows. All your bases are covered with this one because it comes with a liner brush, a highlight diffuser brush, an angled brow brush, and a brow and lash spooly brush.

To fill in brows, the Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus works well for those who love working with a pencil (the triangular shape of the pencil lets you switch from a thick line to a skinny line instantly), and Anastasia Beverly Hills' Dip Brow is an essential for those who like a cream-based filler.

Though we may all want $300 eyelash extensions, they're just not feasible for those of us who have silly things like $400 textbooks to worry about. (Sigh.) The second best thing? A bangin' mascara. Eyeko's mascara comes in a variety of formulas. Our current fave is Black Magic due to its plumping power and longevity.

If your roommate is hogging the bathroom late at night or you just can't bring yourself to go to the communal bathroom, Eyeko's Mascara Off Wipes will be your saving grace.

Do double duty with Milk Makeup's Lip + Cheek Stain. You don't want to drag all 60 of your lipsticks to your dorm, after all. Even out skintone with Milk Makeup's Sunshine Skin Tint. It's lightweight and breathable, perfect for getting you through the first few stressful weeks of school. Anastasia Beverly Hills' Contour Kit is another great item to splurge on since it'll take care of all your contour-related needs. (Highlighting and contouring!)

We have lip products everywhere: in the car, at home, in several trash-filled purses... everywhere. The few items that we can't get enough of are Smith's Rosebud salve (the smell!) for hydration, OCC's Lip Tars for when we want long-lasting color, and TONYMOLY's Mini Lip Balms when we're looking for something cute to pull out of our bags.

The best deal out there, Mario Badescu's Facial Spray is hydrating, refreshing, and relaxing. Seriously, stock up on a couple of bottles: one for your backpack and one for your bathroom. For a gentle cleansing at night, Mario Badescu's Cleansing Gel will keep your skin bright and revived without drying it out. Another plus? The price point. If your roommate steals it, you won't break the bank replacing it.
