• Photo Diary: Diner Stories

The best thing about diners? The color schemes! To complement our springtime color palette, we visit a few of our favorite, pastel-hued diners and find out more about what makes them so special.

    Café Henrie
Located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Café Henrie is a relatively new spot that's all pastel pinks, baby blues, and risequé neon. Headed up by André Saraiva, the café is part quaint eatery and part art project. While the café's food branches out from typical diner fare (expect to find fresh salads and produce, along with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options), it still maintains that cozy diner feel that people the world over have come to love. And a bonus? It's the ultimate Instagram spot.

    Bar Luce
If Bar Luce looks like something out of a movie, that's because it kind of is. The Milan-based diner/café was actually designed by Wes Anderson himself, ensuring that every single thing in the diner (from the specially curated jukebox to the Zissou-themed pinball machine) will make you feel like you're living out your movie-loving dreams. The chairs are color-coordinated to the floor which are color-coordinated to the tables - it's a pastel-lover's dream. With everything from quick bites to sugary pastries, Bar Luce is the spot to unwind if you ever find yourself in Milan. (We think even Margot Tenenbaum would approve.)

    Brent's Drugs
Located in Jackson, Mississippi, Brent's Drugs is about as old-school as it gets when it comes to diners. The diner, which has been open since 1946, offers all the essential diner food: burgers, fries, and (of course) milkshakes. The diner is so iconic and "classic-midcentury-diner" that movies like The Help have even used it as a set. If you're looking to take a road trip to an All-American diner classic, then Brent's Drugs is where you want to be.
