Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Of course! I’m living in New York City as a junior at Columbia University, studying East Asian Studies, Business, and Art History. I’m from a sunny beach town suburb of Los Angeles, but I am absolutely loving studying, photographing, and dancing my way through NYC.

What’s it like going to college in NYC, especially coming from the west coast?
It’s incredible. Besides the brutal winter, I love it. There’s always an event going on—a concert, museum exhibition, Broadway show, or a new coffee place to visit. And I get a lot of student discounts too!

When did you first start your Instagram account? Were you surprised when you started getting so many followers?
187 weeks ago, so almost 4 years ago. Out of the blue on Halloween this past year, Instagram made me a Suggested User. That’s when I gained most of my followers, and it still surprises me today.

What kind of things to you like to look for when shooting for IG?
Light & color. I watch the way shadows fall and how light dances off of buildings and faces and flowers. And I’m very partial to pink!

    Favorite filter to use?
I love VSCOcam’s A6 and C1 filters. As for Instagram, probably Juno.

Can you tell us about a place you’ve recently discovered and loved?
I recently visited Valerie Confections in Los Angeles. It’s a specialty chocolate store, but the real winners here are the petits fours. They are so dang good. When I was a child, my mom used to give me petits fours for special occasions, but these surpass anything I remember. Try the rose passion fruit and orange marzipan flavors!

Which part of the city do you live in? Can you tell us a few of your favorite things about living there?
I live in Morningside Heights, aka the Upper Upper West Side. I love the residential and student community, the less-than-10-minute walk to Central Park, and my favorite coffee shop, Joe.

What do you see yourself doing in the future?
Something business related, with a creative spin. I would also love to incorporate the foreign languages—Chinese and French—that I am learning.

What’s one of your favorite memories of NYC?
Oh man, so many! I will always remember my first autumn picnic in Central Park with my best friend and roommate at school, Sarah. We brought our own pastries and drinks and ate them while watching the NYC Marathon. But I also can’t leave out the times my mom has visited me in the city, the two of us jumping on our hotel beds and eating toffee buns every morning. Or how about when I saw Cabaret three times in two weeks (and once for free!)?

Tell us four things you can’t get enough of right now.
Farmers’ markets, picnics, rose water facial spray, Game of Thrones, and Kacey Musgraves’s Pageant Material.

Any tips and tricks for styling your personal space?
Photos! Print as many as you can in different sizes and change the wall display whenever you feel like it. Don’t be afraid of color either. Add something vibrant to catch your eye and make you smile.

What do you make for dinner when you have friends over?
Probably a simple Greek salad and grilled chicken, but the highlight would definitely be my homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Five dream dinner party guests are…
Wes Anderson, Meryl Streep, Ellen Degeneres, Eddie Redmayne, and Julianne Moore.

If you could have any job in the world, what would you pick?
    Photojournalist or Magazine Editor-in-Chief.

    3 things you can’t live without…
My family, the ocean, and chocolate chip cookies.
