• Dreamers + Doers: Cosanti Desert Gathering

Hold on tight: the photos from this week's Dreamers + Doers gathering are about to take your breath away. We took a trip to the Arizona desert to bring together some local Dreamers + Doers at Cosanti, a dreamy, hidden desert space that's the former gallery and studio of architect Paolo Soleri. Designed to speak to the place where architecture and ecology come together, Cosanti is today used as a space for workshops and to educate guests about Soleri's philosophy and work. We can't imagine a more perfect setting to spend an evening with emerging Phoenix artists, makers, bloggers, and entrepreneurs, including the winners of our D+D College Marketplace contest: woodworker Scott Goodson, jewelry maker Michelle Sasonov, printmaker Josh Brizuela, and designers James Cannella and Danie Plott. Local blogger Ella Erlich was also instrumental in connecting us with an amazing group of Phoenix creatives to add in to the mix. As the sun began to set, we were treated to a private tour of the space, and afterward gathered under a covered dome surrounded by beautiful bronze and ceramic windbells (made from a unique earth-casting method perfected by Soleri) for an evening of good food, drinks, and company.
