Here We Go Magic
Brooklyn's Here We Go Magic closed down the Back Lot today, as the sun started to set and the breeze shook blossoms from the trees on a perfect 74 degree afternoon. Needless to say, it was kind of magic...

They warned us they were ramblers. Hilarious. If Sassy were still around, they would definitely be worthy of a 'Cute Band Alert.'
Kyle and Chris from Happy Birthday ate Chomps on stage and extolled the virtues of performance sports chews ("half-gummi bear, half-Swedish fish") to the crowd.
We heard Dee Dee warming up in the green room, and managed to catch up with her before she went on.

Jessop from Out of Print Magazine was kind enough to share some of his pictures from the UO Back Lot and from around Austin the last couple of days. These shots pretty much say it all...

We love sunshine and summer dresses. Forecast for thunder and rain tomorrow. Please, no...this is not the kind of music festival where you want to wear your wellies.
Real Estate are just finishing up their hazy early morning set, and by 'early morning,' we mean noon. The New Jersey-based quartet brought out tons of devoted fans, and we're feeling especially appreciative of bassist Alex Bleeker's hat and singer Martin Courtney's tye-dye.
Bird & Banner is the ne plus ultra of letterpressed invitations. Each piece fresh from the press is a distillation of its host's quirks and affinities. For those about to celebrate, nothing on earth could be lovelier.

Thomas Mailaender photographed policemen in Paris practicing acrobatics for his series, Acrobatic Squad. The images are currently featured in the International Biennial of Photography and Visual Art, suitably themed (Out of) Control.

After Memory Tapes canceled because he lost his voice, Small Black stepped in to fill the slot. They killed it, and put on an amazing show. Thanks, guys!

The Golden Filter's Penelope is half-Stevie Nicks, half-Debbie Harry. Her tambourine and dance skills were totally impressive, as is her style (No, she's not wearing pants, and yes, she can totally get away with that). We caught up with Penelope and Stephen for a few minutes after their show—watch the video here.
Instead of using canvases, Alexa Meade paints on people. If you don't believe it, check it out in person at her next show opening, on April 2nd from 6 to 8pm at NYC's Postmasters Gallery.
We caught up with Kiwi Annabel Alpers, aka Bachelorette, for a few seconds after her show.
If you find any of the most photographed faces during fashion week, they're likely wearing Eddie Borgo. Let that be a little hint as to just how wonderful everyone thinks his jewelry is. Thank Diane of A Shaded View on Fashion for shooting this video with him in Paris. X - Jen

It's always refreshing to watch a band that really has fun, and Warpaint is definitely one of those bands—evidenced by lots of onstage giggle fits. Their set was packed, and it was one of 11 shows they'll play over the course of four days. Watch one of their songs here.
It takes a lot to rock a stage by yourself, and it also takes a lot to draw a crowd at noon in a town where the parties frequently go all night. Toro Y Moi managed to do both, and it was an inspired, awesome show. The 23-year-old also has tons of personality.
