  • Shannon Coffey, the vlogger behind Coffey Chat, lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, with her comedian boyfriend Rob Michael Hugel, her sneezing cat Kachoo, and a whole lot of picture frames.

  • This middle part of my apartment just feels like a tiny hallway. I've always wanted a better couch. My dream is to have a bathtub again. Like just a big, glorious bathtub, ya know? Super Jacuzzi jams. If we wanna go into dream zone I'd just be like, "And I have a slide from my room into the pool in my backyard." I'd build the house in Blank Check.

  • Pee-Wee's like, really cool. He was awesome with his fans. We met him a couple of times – Rob got his picture taken and was put in that Pee-Wee book that came out, like with all the things he was doing that year, so we got invited to this cool event for it, and got to meet him again. He was really sweet.

  • My cat's name is Kachoo (because he sneezes a lot) and he's gonna be 11 this year. Every time I tell someone he's 11, they're like, "God, he looks so good. He looks so young! He's so lively!" And I get really proud and I'm like, yeah, he's like, really cute.

  • I'll buy anything with a cat on it. It's kind of bad. It's like an old lady attitude. I have like 1,000 cat shirts, and I'll buy basically the same shirt but I'll be like, "Look, it's pink instead of lilac!"

  • I sent UCB a really ridiculous email being like, "I will do anything. I will mop floors and intern for you." I didn't think it was going to work, but then they emailed me back and were like, "Yeah, come in!" And I got an internship right away.

  • Sometimes after you redecorate your room to look like a character's room you're so tired you're like, "I'll leave this." So sometimes we end up with what is essentially a set room for six months and friends will come over and I'll be like, "This isn't… oh, nevermind."

  • I made a video of a tutorial on how to use this [Aeropress], but it's like my own way. I think I totally did it wrong because some coffee snobs came by and were like, "What are you doing?! Don't do that!" But I don't care.

  • I found this cat tile in a box of crap a couple blocks away from my house, and it's a cat in a martini glass, but it looks just like Kachoo. I was like, "Why would anyone throw this out? It's amazing." When I got it, I spent forever staring at it because I couldn't believe I found it. You even get some really good details on the back feet, like the cat paws. That's glamorous.

  • This is what happens constantly, like I'll put something up because I don't want to deal with the emotional baggage of throwing it out. And then five years will go by and I'll be like, "Why is that still there?"

  • I drink only iced coffee. Even in the winter, which is painful. It's just so much more refreshing. Whenever I drink warm coffee, I just wanna go to bed. Like, "And now I'm done."

  • We've been living here [in Williamsburg] for five years. When I was going to move in with Rob, I decided I just had to clean out everything. I would say that I threw out like 90% of my stuff because when I looked through it I was like, I don't even know what this junk is! That made it very easy to move. I was just like, "I have a bag of clothes."

  • If I weren't living here, I think I'd be living in L.A. Growing up in Puerto Rico, I love summer, summer's my time, and I really don't like the long New York winters, but I love so much about New York.

  • I think Kachoo is half Maine Coon because he has these little pointy ears and a big body. He's not fat and he's not overweight, he's just naturally big-boned. And I know people say that about their cats, but this is for real because the cat doctor was like, "Yeah, he's cool. He's not fat."

  • I found out Rob and I had the same exact lunchbox [when we were younger]! A funny story is when I was in kindergarten, my best friend was like, "Oh, we have to find boyfriends. And to do that, we have to put our lunchboxes next to a boy's lunchbox and then we'll date." She put hers next to a blue one, and it worked! The kid who picked up his lunchbox was like, "Oh, hey," and then they kissed in the bathroom and I was like, "What?!" So, yeah, when I found out Rob has the same lunchbox, I thought about that story and I was like, "Oh my god, Rob. We're soulmates."

  • My apartment was built a long time ago and everything is crooked, and things leak. Part of decorating this apartment is going with the flow – a lot of our frames are crooked and wonky because it's just a play on the fact that nothing in here is straight.

  • This gnome belongs to Rob. I don't know why, but there's something nice about having the gnome with me all the time, like you guys are watching me but this creepy gnome is watching you. It kind of makes me feel better. And it adds a pop of life and color. He's so cute! Plus, he has freckles that were caused by the sun.

  • Prior to Coffey Chat, I had never vlogged before, but I had to do it as an audition for a live show on My Damn Channel, and I hated it and I broke down and I cried and I was like, this is the dumbest thing ever. Like, why do they want us to talk to the camera? What do I talk about, my emotions? When I thought about vlogs I thought of sad, lonely teenagers in a dark room crying.
