Interview by Ally Mullen

Our men's catalog model will challenge you to a Dougie dance-off any day. What else would you expect from someone whose middle name is 'Party'?

Hi Olu, introduce yourself!

Hello world! My name is Olu Alege. I am 23-years-old and I live in the best city in the world—New York.

So what do you do for a living besides killing it in our catalog?

I run a website with my best friend Edgar Garrido called Street Level Culture. Check that! We actually are re-dropping it November 1, so enjoy!

Where are your five favorite places to shop in New York?

Wow. Um, well, living in New York it's really like everywhere you go you could find something. But if I had to choose five stores it would have to be OAK, Tokio 7, The Salvation Army for thrifting, Urban Jungle for my vintage shopping, and last but not least Urban Outfitters of course.

Where do you draw your inspiration from when choosing what to wear each day?

It is really my mood and inspiration from the world. I might look at a building and see the colors of a door and incorporate that into my outfit. I do not really like to follow trends. There is too much inspiration in the world for me to not spit it back out through clothes. It comes from within. I think that's what I like about my style the most: It's authentic.

What do you think the perfect party outfit is?

All black. You could never go wrong with all black. Just make sure you are not wearing anything you don't want to get dirty. By the way, I like a little dirt on my shoes.

Have you ever thrown a great party?

Of course! "Party" is my middle name. My friend Chink and I threw an epic party for my 21st birthday in a loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. All my homies were there. I will never forget that night. Someone threw a huge cake in my face. It was crazy! I still have pictures from that night. Ah, man!

How about an awful one?

An awful one? There are no awful parties in New York. Especially if there are beautiful women around.

What is your favorite party decoration?

Whipped cream

What are five party dos?

  • Come to dance
  • Use deodorant!
  • Leave the drama at home.
  • Smile
  • Tip the bartender

What are five party don'ts?

  • No cuffing in the club!
  • Don't wear anything you can't dance in
  • Don't try to battle my Dougie
  • Don't stand on the wall the whole night. Why come if you are just in one spot?
  • Do not throw up in public!

What is your favorite party song of all time?

My favorite song to dance to is "Teach Me How to Dougie" by Cali Swag District. I honestly feel like I have the best Dougie in the world. I will challenge anybody! But recently it has been "Pop That" by Rick Ross, French Montana, Drake, and Lil Wayne. All the girls go crazy when the DJ drops that track. I have too many favorite songs, but for right now it's Andre 3000's "She Lives In My Lap."

Where are five places we can find you hanging out on the weekends?

You can find me home sleeping, recovering from the last party, at another party, at church, chilling with my homies, or on a date with a female. I take all my first dates to Ruby's. Best shrimp pasta in the city.

What's the best party you've ever been to?

The best party I ever been to was actually a day party over the summer. I think Coltrane Curtis threw it. The music was right; the women were right. I think what I liked about it the most was after it was done the sun was still up!

What is one thing a party needs to have to be a success?

One thing a party needs is good music. I hate going to parties where the music sucks. I feel like I wasted my night if the music isn't right.

What is the craziest thing you have ever witnessed happening at a party?

I walked in on a couple getting down in the restroom. It was the funniest and most awkward moment that week.
