Mother-daughter team Elisa Goodkind and Lily Mandelbaum are the founders of Stylelikeu, a website that delves into the closets of some of the most interesting people around. Elisa is a professional stylist, and Lily, a student, inherited her love of fashion–even though their own personal

styles are totally different. Both love vintage and collecting clothing on their travels, but Lily has a distinct hippie flair and loves fleamarket shopping, while Elisa favors dramatic pieces and period styles. We recently got them to open up their own closets and show us some of their favorites.

  • 01. Elisa: Men's Victorian vintage boots, I like them open and with untied laces.
  • 02. Lily: I just moved back to New York from LA, so my clothes have much more of a California, beach vibe to them right now. I feel like Pocahantas when I wear this poncho, which is always a good thing.
  • 03. Lily: I'm wearing a dress from the Rosebowl Flea Market in L.A. and a Gaultier coat that my mom just gave me as a hand-me-down. So excited to wear it every day this winter. Elisa: Ann Demeulemeester shirt, Junya Watanabe pants, Turkish shoes from Katinka, vintage vest—the more authentic, the better. This vest literally has bloodstains on it from the Civil War.
  • 04. Lily: Skirt from a friend, Black Tights from Sockman, Jeffrey Campbell Shoes, Sandro Top, earrings from Mexico. I love wearing huge, ethnic earrings, like these. I splurge on earrings and usually my dresses cost no more then $5.
  • 05. Elisa: Stephen Dweck black round ring and a Rick Owens leather jacket. Rick Owens is one of my favorite designers, I found this coat for 1/4 the retail price at Maxfield Blue in LA, the place where Maxfield's unloads their merchandise from past seasons.
  • 06. Elisa: I don't think we hate anything that the other wears. We are both inspired by the other all of the time, we just don't look good in the same things.
  • 07. Lily: It's funny because I have a white mirrored skirt from Jetrag in L.A. that matches my mirrored blanket on my bed and mirrored ornaments around my room.
  • 08. Lily: My mom's teaching me to invest in more expensive but long-lasting pieces rather than everything being flea market and 'throwaway.'
