Closet Project:
Kel Markey is one of our favorite UO models. Here, take a glimpse into her New York apartment and see what this down-to-earth girl wears on her time off.

This jacket is from Yigal Azrouël's line Cut25. I've worked with them a couple of times and getting pieces from them is always so nice because his stuff is so wearable and classic. My style is really eclectic and I kind of dress depending on my mood. I guess the best way to describe it is a mix of basic classic staples with cool fun pieces.

Moving to New York was the best thing that ever happened to me. Moving to this size closet was the worst thing that ever happened to me. I moved to this apartment because the amount of space is insane! We have five bedrooms, three livings spaces, a roof, and a backyard. It's also really affordable and in a really amazing neighborhood, Prospect Heights!

I like to cook, though living in New York, mixed with college and work, has definitely reduced my cooking time. I eat out way too much now. But if I'm being honest, I rely on hot sauce and microwaves way too much to actually be called a cook. That would probably horrify my mother.

I've played the piano off and on throughout my life but never long enough to actually be a "piano player." This is my roommate's piano but it's a lot of fun to mess around on. We often sit around and invent songs and such. The bottles are just a random collection of things we like! The only thing I really collect are records. I just bought an awesome Johnny Cash Christmas one!

This t-shirt is designed by my friend Bobby Whigham. It's sold by Blood is the New Black. I think it's kind of hilarious because it's definitely not a deliberate drug reference and you can kind of take it however you'd like. It's also the softest shirt I own and Bobby takes really awesome pictures. I'm definitely a t-shirt, jeans, and Dr. Martens kind of girl so it fits right in.

This skirt is from Urban, the shirt is from Gap, and the vest is from this really cool designer Tess Giberson. It's kind of a good example of my style, wearing things that are comfortable but interesting at the same time (the back of this vest is so cool). Modeling has definitely shown me a lot of really insane styles and trends, but I think it's really important to wear what makes you feel good - not what is necessarily in style at the time.

Currently, my favorite albums are A Very Special Christmas (I know I'm a bit early, but I saw this for a dollar the other day and it was one of my favorites as a kid), Against Me's Disco Before The Breakdown, and a cool Manchester Orchestra/Annuals Split that my friend just gave me. Very eclectic I know! I also have an embarrassing number of Billy Joel and Eagles albums.

In this outfit I'm wearing a skirt by Rachel Comey, a Band of Outsiders button up, a vintage sweater, and Dr. Martens. It just started getting cold in New York so I've been living in this sweater. Crazy and frumpy sweaters are my favorite part of winter!

This is a photo in our house of Le Corbusier's Ronchamp Cathedral that my roommate Clark brought. I'm taking an art history class that is making me more interested in art lately. I've always loved museums but recently I sometimes find myself staring at buildings in the city wondering who designed them.
