Where do you live?
I call two places home. I live In Los Angeles, and my lovely grandma lives in a beautiful Mediterranean-inspired house in Malibu, I think everyone in my family has lived there at some point, too. It's a place of gathering for family and friends that holds lots of special memories. All of my early childhood memories I can remember are from that house. It's the most beautiful place, with a spectacular view of the coast and surrounding mountains. Nothing is better than when the fog rolls into Malibu, creating a whimsical place of both forest and ocean and unleashing a climate that is awe-inspiring. It's very stimulating for my work. And Los Angeles, despite the traffic, is a very uniquely beautiful place. Lots of very inspiring and talented people walk the streets, if it's artists, musicians or fashion enthusiasts. I'd have to say the West part of Los Angeles is my favorite, from Fairfax flea markets on Sundays, endless streets of vintage/thrift stores and open air markets to the restaurants, lively culture and beach life of Santa Monica.

Describe your perfect Saturday from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed.
The perfect Saturday would be to meet friends at a coffee shop, take bikes to ride down the coast, thrift on endless streets of stores, go to lunch at Pizzeria Mozza on Highland to get an assortment of different pizzas to share. Go into Space 15 Twenty to see the new pop-ups, go to Santa Monica to hike the SM mountains to take photos, end the night eating at Le Pain Quotidien or the other various restaurants up Ocean Ave. And finally, sitting on the beach watching the sunset.

Who are your best friends, and what do you do when you're hanging out with them?
I have lots of best friends who I've grown up with since 1st grade, I consider them like my sisters, because we love and fight like sisters. When we hang we go thrift shopping, go to flea markets, take photos, cook lots of food and just hang out at each other's houses. We all live really close to each other. I have lots of other best friends too who are newer like my friend Angela, who is a very inspiring and loving person. We take photos all the time, do lots of collaborations and ponder about our life after high school. I'm so lucky to have all of them.

How did you spend your summer?
I spent my summer in Kauai, visiting lots of family who live there. Exploring the forests and swimming with exotic fish in the warm clear waters. I took lots of photos, went to lots of open air markets and ate lots of fresh organic foods. But also appreciating the little things and enjoying the beauty around me. It was something I needed. Back in Los Angeles, I did lots of thrifting, saying goodbye to friends leaving for college, reflecting on the past, and spent the rest in Malibu.

What are three things you can't live without, and why?
My camera: Without my camera, I wouldn't be who I am now.
Goodwill: Seventy percent of my clothes come from here.
Coffee: Wouldn't be able to get my day started without it.

Please list all of your blogs and describe each one.
Banshee Beat: Like the Animal Collective song, originally started with a different name. I started it September 2008 when I switched to independent study high school. Banshee Beat is a collection of my inspirations for everything I do. It's where I post my photography and collages, and acts like a personal art journal except everyone can see it. My blog is also used as a place to share some good finds and as a diary of inspiring artists and objects I use in my collages. I've gotten into the zodiac, and old anatomy, sea life and bird illustrations, lots of that is included in my collages.

Dear wwwolf: Is also my flickr group. I've had it for a few months now. It's a blog where people send me the story behind one of their photographs. A lot of them are very moving, and lots are quite funny. The stories are just as beautiful and unpredictable as the photograph. I'd love to keep the blog going and make a book...I think the stories deserve to be published.

Room Buffalo: Room Buffalo came along a few months after my main blog after people started asking me if I sold clothes. That's when I decided to sell some of my vintage or thrift finds. I used to personally style people, they would send me x amount of dollars, and I would shop for them and send lots back in a box with Room Buffalo stickers on it. I stopped that though, it got kind of overwhelming and difficult. But I still love styling.

How do you make the collages on Banshee Beat?
I like to keep a lot of that a secret, but I like to find old books with lovely illustrations and photographs. I cut them out and lay them out putting them together like a puzzle. I'm inspired by things ranging from old anatomy to illustrations of birds, sea creatures and everything in between. I also use Photoshop, but I think illustration would better suit my collages. I'm constantly thinking of new collages to create, if I'm not making a collage, my mind always is. I can make collages all day, really.

What is Baiser Mag?
I was asked to contribute and represent LA for Baiser Mag, which is a small online magazine, with contributors from all around the world, like Tokyo, London, and Toronto, and it continues to expand today. Contributors post weekly hand written notes, and a photo. It's cool because its universal and provides different perspectives.

What are three ideas/concepts/philosophies that are important to you or that you believe in?
I believe that everything exists in cycles, like seed-plant-flower-fruit-seed or birth-life-death-rebirth. And that the body-mind and spirit are all connected. I don't believe in organized religion, to me religion should be open minded and celebrated within nature. It's a much better church or synagogue, it's a more wholesome connection to what you feel in the afterlife. I also strongly believe in finding your own path, and to never give up on your passions.

How did you get interested in art?
My great aunt introduced me to art. She was an amazing artist, always ripping out pictures from design magazines and newspapers, and creating it on a canvas. She had a very distinct style, and she is the reason I love modern design. I was always so impressed. She always had out tons of paints and brushes for me to use, and I would sit and paint all day long. When I was in elementary school I used to come home saying how I wish all we did was draw and paint. I still feel the same way.

Favorite Books
Art Forms in Nature: Incredible illustrations, I use a lot in my collages.

Fahrenheit 451:Very eerie and interesting, just finished it actually.

The Virgin Suicides: Beautifully written, great visuals, better than the movie.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower: I read this in junior high.

Slaughterhouse Five: "Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt" (one of my favorite lines), very amazing concept.

I'm a Stranger Here Myself by Ogden Nash: It's stories in the form of poems. I just recently got this because it was 50 cents and had a pretty cover, I was going to use it to sketch in and fold, but this one line caught my eye so I think I may read it instead..."I know a girl from Paris, France, and I fear that every evening she goes out to dance, but I fear that nothing is further from her mind, and what is very suspicious, her letters say that she is being very quiet, but my nerves deny it, and I am unhappily sure that she is drinking champagne with aristocrats and exchanging cynicisms with sophistocrats."

Favorite movies
The Royal Tenenbaums: My friend Grace introduced me to Wes Anderson's brilliant, beautiful films a couple years ago. This movie is my top favorite, it's one of those movies that never gets old, I could watch it over and over again. All the characters are so good, and the art direction is beyond.

Amelie: Again, the art direction in the movie is so beautiful, another movie that never gets old. Amelie is such a sweet character, I love how she celebrates life's small pleasures like sticking her hand in a bag of grains or breaking the shell of crème brulée with a spoon.

Two Days in Paris: I love the relationship of Jack and Marion and that it all takes place in three days. The end scene is one of my favorite scenes of all time. It's so sad but really speaks the truth. There's so much I can say about it. Everyone should see it

Garden State: Who doesn't like this movie? It's a classic.

Vicki Christina Barcelona: Makes me want to go to Barcelona so bad. One of Woody Allen's best in my opinion.

The Virgin Suicides: Everything about this movie is pretty, my favorite scene is the diary scene, and prom scene. Very eerie movie though. Sofia Coppola really knows how to make beautiful films.

Marie Antoinette: Another alluring film by Sofia Coppola. The costumes were incredible, the whole movie is very appealing to my eye.

Favorite musicians
Bob Dylan
Andrew Bird
Devendra Banhart
The Velvet Underground
The Beatles
Jimi Hendrix

Favorite places to travel
All over Italy: Last summer I went to Rome, Florence, Milan, Venice and Lake Como. I fell in love with Florence, it would take a novel to explain how much I love Italy. I think about it everyday. I'm proud to be Italian.

San Francisco: Where I probably should be living, such a fascinating place.

Yet to visit New York: Can't even explain how badly I want to go there. I just know I'll love it. People can't believe I haven't been here.

Who are some of your biggest fashion inspirations?
There is no one in particular that inspires me. I'm more inspired by nature, or people in old photographs from the '60s and '70s era. Florals, lace and earthy colors also inspire the clothes I pick to wear. Keeping a mind set on a particular look I want to go for helps, too.

How would you describe your style?
Open Minded. Late 1960s free spirited. Lots of florals and drapey pieces belted up with a nice braided leather belt. I wear lots of dresses with vintage jewelry from my grandma.

Five favorite pieces of clothing.
UO's collaboration Reformed Green Floral Dress: I can't take it off I love it so much.

Vintage Chanel bag: It was my mom's, it's a classic, it goes with everything.

Floral Kimono: One of my mom's best friends bought it for me on our summer trip to Kauai. So lovely!

Vintage Scorpio sign necklace: My grandma is so proud that I am a Scorpio like her, and I am too! It was hers at one point, she gave it to me with all her other amazing jewelry.

Brown Oxfords from American Vintage on Melrose: I think I wore them everyday last winter, and will again this winter.
