Young & In Love

What do you do?
Bruno: I am the singer in an indie rock band called Neimo.
Melanie: Personal assistant.

How'd you guys meet?
Bruno: We met in a bar called Pop'In in Paris three years ago. We were introduced by common friends, Eglantine and Alex. Actually, the first thing Alex pointed out to me that we could see one of Melanie's nipples showing through her oversized tank top.
Melanie: That was a classy remark! Ok, I remember which top.

What are the best gifts you've ever given each other?
Bruno: The two rings and beautiful vintage lockets, cameos that she's offered to me in the three years we have been together. And the granola that she made and mailed me when we once parted.
Melanie: Owww! To me it's the "not-engagement-but-almost" Saskia Diez solitaire ring, very modern and classy. And all the small gifts he brings me from tour, because it feels like he still always thinks of me there.

What's one of the funniest things that's ever happened to you together?
Making love with one of my songs, "Hot Girl," coming randomly on our iTunes, bursting laughing at that with our friends sleeping next door realizing what we were doing and what'd happened, too.

If you could both ditch your current lives and take off to do whatever you wanted, what would that be?
Bruno: I don't think I would change anything. I'm feeling pretty lucky.
Melanie: I would kidnap my love and run to a desert island, where it's warm and sunny and we would live "d'amour et d'eau fraiche." Ok, I guess I would get bored really quickly!!

What's the most fun project/trip/collaboration that you've ever done together?
Bruno : Posing for a naked photo shoot together, with a very good friend of ours and photographer, Sophie Jarry. It was strange at the start to be walking around naked in front of Sophie (especially for me!) but then there was a lot of complicity and fun. We would sit on the bed totally naked and drinking wine and smoking while talking to Sophie and looking at some inspiring pictures over the internet.
Melanie: Yes, that was a great moment of complicity. And I would say posing for Karl Lagerfeld as well! To me he has always been a HUGE icon, and though I was like acting natural, I was soooo impressed, well, I think we were both! It felt like I was dreaming when he asked us to pose for him together, at the end of a session he had done with a few bands, including Neimo. It was a real honor.

What's the largest thing you co-own together? Bruno: Er... Bank debt? Melanie: Hahaha. Hmm. Our chic and cosy little nest.

What is something that each of you love that the other can't stand?
Bruno: Her passion for Gossip Girl.
Melanie: His cowboy boots and a few clothes he bought when we were separated!
