Who is the quintessential HAWKS girl?

A girl who has her own style and appreciates sexy, chic, and easy lasting clothes. She's ready to take on the world and she doesn't follow the crowd.

We read online that "working on this line allowed you to tap into younger styles that would otherwise never see the light of day." Was it exciting for you to expand your range to include the Urban girl?

It was so exciting and still is so exciting to think that maybe we can take some chances that we don't get rewarded for when working on the main collection...shorter, sexier, more open, less conventional. It's fun to have a new girl to appeal too.

What were your inspirations for the pieces in this line?

This is where the lines collide, I always want to make pieces that can go from season to season, day to night, or suitcase to party and back. All of my inspirations come from life: walking down the street, a moment in an old movie, a building's windows, or the way a cobble stone street is laid. All you need to do is open your eyes or walk a different route to be inspired!

What's on your iPod right now?

This is the BEST question...because it's all the music that my amazing friend Jennifer HAWKS gives me. She is in the music industry and informs me on a daily basis. In fact - she's SO good that I don't even try to put my own lists together anymore, I provide the clothes and she provides the music. Right now my latest playlists includes Steel Train, Flobots, Madonna, Portishead, Weezer, Iain Archer, Chris Brown, The Dodos, Betty Wright, Amos Lee, Black Kids, Santogold, and tons more...
