• Thursday Tip-Off: Relive the 2000s

Our Thursday Tip-Off series is a weekly set of tips, suggestions, and tricks for making you a better-informed person. You're welcome.

Escape to the glory days of youth. When mix CD’s were the quickest way to your crush’s heart. When Britney’s self-titled album dropped and she starred in a road trip movie. When the clothes were shine and loose. That’s right. We’re talking about the 2000s. Read on to find a few of our favorite ways to revisit one of our favorite decades.

The away messages, the custom profiles, the alert sound you assigned to your crush's screen name that warned you every time they logged on, group chats with your best friends. The mere thought of AOL Instant Messenger induces pangs of instant nostalgia. Even though your friends have probably moved onto, you know, smart phones and stuff, there's still a way to get your AIM fix. Emily is Away is an immersive interactive game that takes place on AIM. Y2K Jams
Kid A, Stankonia, The Avalanche's Since I Left You, and Modest Mouse's The Moon & Antarctica all came out in the year 2000. Oh, and how could we forget, a little track called "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child dropped in February of that same year forever changing the way we listen to music. If that's not something to go back and celebrate and bask in, well, we don't know what is. So get curating, pull together some of your favorite songs and burn yourself a Y2K mix. Trust us.
