• On the Menu: Hydration To-Go

Ready to hit the festival circuit? Don't forget to stay hydrated! We team up with photographer Anett Velsberg for two thirst-quenching drinks that are a little more exciting than water.

Above: S'Well 17oz Wood Water Bottle and Contigo Purity Glass Water Bottle

    Grapefruit, Turmeric and Raspberry Cooler
    Makes 1

    Needed:

    -1 grapefruit
    -1 tsp turmeric
    -1 tsp agave syrup
    -1 ½ cup water ice

1.This is a super easy recipe that will amp up your normal on-the-go drink! First, squeeze the juice from the grapefruit into a glass. (We're mixing this up in a glass and then transferring to our to-go bottle as it's easier to mix this way.)

    2. Add the turmeric and agave and mix. Stir together so that all is mixed.

    3. Pour in the water and add the ice. If you're going to be adding to a to-go bottle, it may be easier to add the ice in last, but it really just depends on the size of your bottle. Shake up and enjoy!

    Watermelon and Rosemary Fizz
    Makes 4

    Needed:

    -4 cups watermelon
    -juice from 3 limes
    -1 cup water
    -½ cup brown sugar
-3 rosemary stalks + more for garnish
    -ice
    -100 ml syrup
    -300 ml soda water

    1. Place the water, brown sugar and rosemary in a pot and heat, constantly stirring, until the sugar has dissolved. Take off heat and let infuse for 1 hour.

    2. Blend watermelon with lime juice. Strain and pour into a jug. Add rosemary syrup into the jug, followed by a couple of rosemary stalks, lime wedges and ice cubes.

    3. Pour soda water over the mixture. Once it's stirred up, transfer to a water bottle. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Mixing up something different and more exciting than plain water for a festival (or even just a day spent outside in the heat) will ensure that you get enough fluids on a hot day, especially if remembering to drink enough water is always a chore for you. For those out there who need a little something extra to kick their hydration into gear, this is the perfect solution. Make sure to try your own concoctions, too!
