MONA FOMA
Locally—and lovingly—referred to as MOFO, MONA FOMA, is a week-long festival held in Hobart every January featuring some of the world's most avant-garde performers. Curated by Brian Ritchie (one time bassist of the Violent Femmes and now a Hobart local), this year's lineup swings from Girl Talk to PJ Harvey, to Icelandic group Amiina to local Italian disco stallion Donny Benet. The festival is the offshoot of MONA, the most fascinating, perverted, beautiful, disgusting and magnificent museum in the southern hemisphere. - Nadia
