• Ladies Who Rock: Margaret Atwood

Margaret Atwood is a beautiful, wonderful woman who writes awesome books that everyone should read. If you have no idea where to start (she's a very accomplished lady), then take a quick look at the books mentioned below, and while I sum them up in one sentence, you can decide if you want to take the time to read them. Reading made easy!—Katie

    The Handmaid's Tale
Set in the future, this book's protagonist is a handmaid (concubine) who recounts her life in a restrictive society, and it's also full of sex, drama and secret underground clubs that are intent on overthrowing the government.

    Wilderness Tips (short stories)
One of the stories in this collection, "Death by Landscape," is a story about a woman who is reminiscing about some real crappy stuff that happened to her in the woods, but, surprise, it's totally a deep look at life and the way people cope with tragedies.

    Oryx and Crake
    Oryx and Crake
