Every time the season changes from summer to fall I'm like, "This is it! This is the year I make hats my thing!" But then I usually fail miserably because it's weirdly intimidating to just pop a giant hat on one's head and go about business as usual. It feels so conspicuous. (Last year I also wanted to make high-waist, burgundy, corduroy flares my thing, but, SURPRISE!, that totally failed, too.) Some people, especially here at work, rock big, floppy hats like it ain't no thing, but I'm not at that level yet.
And if you're not at that level yet either, then maybe starting with a beanie will help ease you into the whole "I AM GOING TO WEAR A HAT" mentality. Beanies are cool because they totally give you an edge and can revamp an entire outfit, but they don't make you feel like you're walking around with a neon sign on top of your head. To get you in the right headspace for hats (hey-o), here's some fashion inspo. Get ready to feel TOTALLY COOL. —Katie
