Chanel Paris-Moscow Pre-Fall Accessories Video permalinkI honestly don’t know how they do it. This Chanel Pre-Fall video brings you into this fantasy mindset for just a few minutes before reality sets back in and you then realize you are unfortunately not one of the lucky girls trying on one of those spectacular headdresses. Nice 7 minute daydream though. X - Jen

From Oslo 05/05/09Days of Thunder permalinkDays of Thunder is a mountain bike competition now in its second year, and it features some of the most bad-ass riders from Europe and around the world. What goes up must come down...sometimes painfully.

From Los Angeles 05/04/09Maestro Knows permalinkFilmmaker, artist, skate rat and all-around lovable guy Levi Maestro gained a cult following with his online show Maestro Knows, which was often just him hanging out, or driving around in his car. Tonight, Alife at Space 15 Twenty hosts a special screening of Maestro Knows episodes, plus extra footage from the Levi’s past couple of years. As laidback a kid as he is, if Levi’s videos don’t inspire you to get off your ass and do something, we don’t know what will.

From New York 04/16/09UO Shoots: Skye Parrot & Valentine Fillol-Cordier permalinkIn addition to their photographer+model relationship, Skye Parrott and Valentine Fillol-Cordier are also close friends and frequent collaborators. In an editorial for Dossier Journal—a magazine that Parrott co-founded with Katherine Krause—Parrott and Fillol-Cordier paired up once again to present their take on Kim Gordon’s Mirror/Dash collection. The resulting images are just as dreamy, romantic and rock ‘n’ roll as we would imagine them to be.

From Elsewhere 04/06/09Los Colorados permalinkWe don’t like Katy Perry. But a Ukrainian polka band covering Katy Perry, we can totally get down with that. |

It Was True permalinkThe secret that wasn’t a secret this week was that Kanye West was going to show up at the Good Music showcase, the final performance at the four-day Levi’s/Fader Fort. Sure enough, he did, and put on a hype show that left several thousand people incredibly happy. The highlights were when West and protégé Kid Cudi played the Crookers’ remix of Cudi’s “Day N Nite” and just basically freaked out on stage, and when Common and Texas-born Erykah Badu showed up for a couple of songs. Getting up to the front would have taken a trio of bodyguards or a stun gun, but thankfully, the FADER has posted several good videos from the night. |

Titus Andronicus permalinkWe don’t know anything about Glen Rock, NJ. Judging from Titus Andronicus, it must rock. It’s a rare and special experience when you get to see a band freak out like this, especially when it is in your own backyard—er, back-lot.

From Philadelphia 03/05/09Exit - Grand Opening Throwdown permalinkExit, our go-to hometown skateshop, are celebrating the move from their old digs on Girard (see pic above) to their new spot in Northern Liberties this Friday by throwing a seriously multi-faceted party. OG skaterock band McRad is playing, Sammy Slice is dj’ing, Traffic are premiering their latest video Tokyo Transfer, you’ll be able to buy a limited edition Exit deck and wheels (Real and Spitfire respectively) and guzzle some free Yards, natch. If that wasn’t enough, the after party is The Bounce at the Barbary. There’s not much more to do other than suit up and show up. Exit’s event is from 6-9pm and the new shop is located at 825 N. 2nd St (bet Poplar and Brown). Get there. |
From Los Angeles 03/04/09. Erin Wasson x RVCA Fall 09 permalinkThe behind-the-scenes video for Erin Wasson’s Fall collection for RVCA is basically five minutes of Wasson flipping her hair. Not that we’re complaining about that. Not at all. If Wasson wanted to beat us up, we’d let her.
