From Japan 06/26/08“Reversible Destiny” Lofts permalinkBuilt by a pair of artist/architects who believe that “It’s immoral that people have to die”, these reversible destiny lofts are intended to outlaw aging and it’s consequences. It wasn’t our intention to get super deep here...we like ‘em for their whimsy quotient and their colorful exterior. (Via treehugger.) |
From Elsewhere 06/06/08Hairwash Project permalinkYou’re never far from a wacky sociological experiment when you’re surfing the wild waves of the internets. Hairwash Project points it’s spotlight onto the world of personal grooming.

From Elsewhere 05/19/08Persian Jigsaw Rug permalinkThis modular “rug” from Katrin Sonnleitner is made from a recyclable mixture of synthetic and natural rubber and lets you create your own Persian style rug from jigsaw shaped pieces. You better have alot of coffee -or alot of time on your hands- to get this crafty. Definitely for the Virgos. (Via Torc.) |
From Elsewhere 04/17/08Apartamento Magazine permalinkThe premiere issue of Apartamento, a new everyday life interiors magazine, is out now. The folks at the home office (Milan!) were nice enough to send us this image and since we’re addicted to all things interior design related, we can’t wait to get our hands on the actual magazine itself. |
From Paris 02/29/08Surface 02 Collection permalinkDomestic gathered a dozen designers (Dylan Martorell, Geneviève Gauckler, Tado, eBoy, Jeremyville, etc.) together for their Surface 02 collection, which pits the designers against archetypal quality porcelain plates. We’re digging this set by Kustaa Saksi. (Via Torc.) |
From Elsewhere 01/28/08Domino’s Reader’s Choice Winner permalinkLara from the ATL won Domino’s Reader’s Choice decorating contest. And we concur, you couldn’t stop us from kicking our feet up in this warm and colorful space. (Via sfgirlbybay.) |
From San Francisco 01/17/08Jeremy Fish Accessorizes permalinkFirst there was the Dalek shower curtain. Now Jeremy Fish throws his hat in the accessories ring with his Superficial line. We like the lifestyle products expansion route some of our favorite artists are taking just so long as they keep it tasteful. Both these guys have done just that. Bonus: we’ve got ‘em.

Ornament Discontinued permalinkIn light of the very tragic gun violence that has plagued our home city of Philadelphia over the past few weeks, we have decided to discontinue offering the gun ornament featured in our holiday catalog. This item was always meant as an ironic twist on a traditional holiday staple and not in any way a celebration of guns or violence. We all share in this terrible crisis and our thoughts go out to the victims and the families of those affected.
