From Australia 06/25/09Bookworms Never Go to Bed Alone permalinkIn Bookworms Never Go to Bed Alone at Gorker Gallery, artist and photographer Kelly Thompson presents mixed-media works that illustrate the kind of geeky girls every guy—even the quarterback—dreams of. From Australia 06/02/09Deadly Ponies Precious permalinkKatie Smith and Liam Bowden, the designers behind Deadly Ponies, one of our favorite bag lines, have created Deadly Ponies Precious, a jewelry line based in part on the Victorian tradition of ‘mourning jewelry,’ which were the first baubles a woman was allowed to wear after she’d spent the past one year and one day mourning the loss of her husband. Fortunately, we can wear these bad-ass bits in much happier times. |
From Australia 05/12/09Anna & Boy permalinkBardot eyeliner may not be the most practical makeup for a day at the beach, but as the Anna & Boy swimwear catalog illustrates, who the hell cares?

From Australia 04/22/09Foxy Man permalinkIn a sea of fashion blogs, I can’t think of any specific one I’d rather read every day besides Foxy Man. Nadia lives in Melbourne, has as much of an obsession for killer rock’n’roll and leather as I do and while her outfit posts are sporadic, each one is somehow more mindblowingly amazing than the last. All around this is thee blog to check out! X - Jen |
From Australia 04/16/09The Grafik Museum permalinkRecently launched site The Grafik Museum is dedicated to the best in Aussie art, design, photography and models. FYI: The awesomeness above is an oil painting, not a photograph. Down Under is ripping it right now.

From Australia 04/09/09Lovers’ Land Bike Tour permalinkAs if we didn’t already wish that we were a gnarly dude with a bike, board and snarled blonde hair, the beauty of the Lovers’ Land Blog is proof that the life of a non-surfer is no life at all.

From Australia 03/11/09Me and Oli permalinkGood for her, sucks for us: Illustrator Lalita Lu’s clothing line Me and Oli frequently sells out. With prints like these, it’s no wonder they’re flying out the door.

From Australia 03/02/09Karen Walker Eyewear permalinkIf there was any way to make Karen Walker shades appeal even more to everyone in the market than they already do, throwing a set of fangs onto the super cute models would be the way to go. X - Jen |
From Australia 02/20/09Maurie and Eve permalinkEvery once in a while, we come across something that is so good we’re almost tempted to keep it to ourselves. Maurie and Eve is one such thing.

From Australia 02/13/09LightScraper permalinkThe url for Eness, an interactive design and installation firm in Melbourne, is electronicmiracles.com, and it’s particularly apt. One of their most-recent and most-mind-blowing projects is the LightScraper, created for the Rainbow Serpent festival. The LightScraper is outfitted with infrared cameras that track human movement and then transpose it into musical notes and lights, creating an ever-changing aural and visual experience. (Via PSFK.) |
