Richard Avedon: Portraits of Power is now halfway through its four month run at the Corcoran Gallery - you’ve got until just after Inauguration Day to get downtown and check out fifty years worth of the fashion photographer’s most politically-infused work, including the 1998 portrait, above, of singer and activist Patti Smith.
