Nothing better than fall in the Catskills, friends. We bundled up, drove upstate, and checked in for the weekend to explore Phoenicia, NY. But what would a trip be without documenting it to share? Read on for where to go and what to see on a quick visit upstate.
Cruisers! The perfect mode of transportation for going out and exploring on a fall day.
Phoenicia Drugstore: Totally frozen in time, the old school Main Street drugstore.
The Mystery Spot: Afternoon antiques: perfect for perusing vintage clothes and old records.
Scandinavian Grace: Scandinavia in NY: the best of minimal homewares, furniture, and objects
Woodstock General Supply: gear for outdoors (with a lot of it made or sourced locally!)
Town Tinker Tubing: summertime musts — float the Catskills
Hunter Mountain Zipline: "What, you've never zipped above the trees on a Catskills zipline?"
To eat and drink:
Phoenicia Diner: this is the spot — midcentury diner serving up big breakfast skillets in cast iron griddles.
Peekamoose: Gramercy Tavern in the Catskills. Amazing food served in a restored farmhouse.
Sportsman's Alamo Cantina / Brio's: Italian and Mexican food in the same restaurant? We don't really get it either, but we were happy campers at a place where we could order a margarita at the bar and turn the corner for a slice of pizza.
Cucina: THE Woodstock spot. Simple, refined, and amazing interiors. Feels like a Nancy Meyers movie.
