A crazy amount of events going on tonite...lookee here: The Rub will be doing their thing in NYC, Diplo and Catchdubs are at Temple in San Francisco, and Guns’N’Bombs will be in Montreal with Curses! But downtown LA might be the place to be: I Heart Comix is going big with Mstrkrft, Z-trip, LA Riots, and Lasaro Casanova. And Dim Mak might have them beat with a line-up that includes Justice, Busy P, 2 Live Crew, Peaches, A-Trak, Whitey, and every DJ in LA.

Hungry for art? Check out the Yummy exhibition at Philadelphia’s NEXUS/foundation for today’s art gallery space. The show - designed to investigate craving, compulsion and culture through food - opens on December 13th, 2007 and runs through February 1st, 2008. Artists include Tracy Stuckey (that’s a shot from her Meat Mannequins series above...), Brandy Agnew, Megan McCready, Monika Krol, Bilwa and the previously blogged-about Amy Stevens. Remember, “Yummy-ness” is as much in the mind as it is in the mouth of the beholder…

Photographer, author and director Autumn de Wilde was behind the camera to capture Elliott Smith’s image for his Figure 8 album cover. She’s since memorialized his legacy in print, working with Smith’s friends and family as well as other musicians to create an eponymously-named book complete with interviews, handwritten notes, never-before-seen photos and a live CD of unreleased solo acoustic performances – check out an exclusive preview of “Between The Bars” here.
